Attraction is dependent on many elements—from the way you look and the way you style yourself to the way you speak. But despite all that, there are certain things you do, be it unintentionally or intentionally, that might make you unattractive without you even knowing it.
Attractiveness is subjective but there are certain personality traits that can stop you from coming off as likable. Know that this has nothing to do with you particularly but rather the science behind it. You might be actively doing many things to make yourself more presentable and likable but what’s the point if some of your mannerisms end up backfiring?
So, here are some of the things you might think make you attractive but in reality, they don't.
1. Overdoing the Fragrance
You might think applying too much perfume can make you attractive but believe it or not, it doesn’t. When you walk into a room and are greeted by someone who is clearly wearing too much fragrance, it’s an immediate turn-off. Science backs up this claim as research suggests that women can actually smell testosterone but if you put too much perfume, you are masking your real, natural scent.
2. Be Confident
They say “you’ve got to fake it till you make it,” which basically means that once you start believing that you can do something, you’ll actually be able to do it. This phrase goes both ways—if you think of yourself as an unattractive person then eventually, your body language and the way you talk will be negatively affected. Hpwever, if you start to feel more confident, it’ll change your style and make you come off as a much more attractive person.
3. Natural Beauty
Makeup is a way for people to express themselves, so whether you put on some makeup for artistic expression or to enhance your features, in the end, it is up to you. However, a study suggests that men find women who sport a natural look to be much more attractive. It is less about the amount of makeup and more about keeping it natural while enhancing your features.
Attraction is quite subjective. The best way to attract someone is to be yourself and the right person will find you attractive just the way you are.
